After working out to it for a couple of days, Dom Kennedy’s Yellow Album is not surprisingly dope but definitely dopeR than I thought it would be. I realized pretty early how chill, catchy & easy-listenable Dom Kennedy’s songs are. His modern twist on the West Coast lifestyle is appealing, honest & slightly comical. For a kid who grew up in the nineties, filled w/ experimental electrified organs,comprised in early west-coast HIP HOP/FUNK euphonies; the beats are just as captivating as the lyrics. It’s also good to hear good ol’ Kendrick Lamar in the mix. It was a dope, friendly, proficient feature; just like DK’s appearance on Section.80  It’s definitely just as good as the first time I heard DK in ‘09, on The Exactly’s Your New Favorite Mixtape w/ Watermelon Sundae. ALL GOOD MIXTAPES.
